Our packaging is tested proven to be compostable and is completely safe and non-toxic.
Our thin film compostable bags are designed to break down through natural biological activity. Composting works best when three conditions are present: heat (temperature), moisture (water), and microorganisms. The stronger and more stable these conditions are, the faster composting happens, so real world timing will vary based on the compost environment and how the bag is used.For best results, compost through an industrial composting (organics) program where accepted, since facilities maintain controlled conditions and thin film bags may break down in about 3 to 6 months depending on the facility. Home composting can also work, but it is usually slower and less consistent, so it may take longer. Keeping the pile moist and active, and tearing the bag into smaller pieces, can help speed up home composting.
